Oh no – Geoff Achison has double booked. He got late notification of a tour venue while in the UK. So we now have
Jarrod Shaw’s passion for blues music is unmistakable, from the moment the first note rings. With every performance, he delivers a soulful and authentic blues inspired show – played with heartfelt conviction.
Born and raised in the countryside of the Macedon Ranges, Jarrod taught himself to play guitar by soaking in the sounds of the renowned blues musicians from a time gone by, as well as the contemporary musicians from the Australian blues scene. Over the years, he has honed his craft through countless gigs and time spent on the road, developing a style that’s distinctly his own.
Blending the intricate rhythms of country-blues fingerstyle guitar with wailing harmonica, and a powerful voice often described as sounding far beyond his years, Jarrod is a one-man powerhouse sure to get your toes tappin’!

Support Act Geoff Edkins
Geoff has a long history of band performance as a guitarist, covering genres such as Rock and Blues. In recent years Geoff hung up the electric guitar and switched to acoustic performance having played in several duos since. Around this time, he discovered his voice, out of necessity as, with only two people on stage now, there was nowhere to hide. Solo opportunities began to appear in between duos and the challenge of being a lone singer/guitarist was a new and exciting experience for him.
Geoff is a prolific songwriter who enjoys the process of moulding music and lyrics together. His music is influenced by Australian artists such as Shane Nicholson, Rick Price and Jodi Martin as well as the bands and artists of his youth. His music reaches a wide audience as it tells tales of lost chances, opportunities, breaking free and in his songs ‘On a foreign field’ and ‘One last time’, he delves into the heartache and loss created by war.
In recent times, Geoff has supported Mike Brady, shared the stage with Ron Peers from Stylus and has collaborated with Jason Vorherr. He is currently rehearsing in a new duo with singer/guitarist Kate Hanssen and enjoying all musical opportunities as they arise. You can find Geoff playing at festivals, markets and various venues around the eastern and south-eastern suburbs.Geoff is well known among circles for his support to others and his fine guitar style.

21st August. Mark Lindsay
Mark Lindsay returned to playing guitar at 50 years old after not playing at all for the best part of 25 years. He sang for the first time in public at the Burrinjah café open mic in Upwey in around 2007, nervous as hell. Since then it has been a slow but steady grind, building up a repertoire of over 300 songs. Dabbling in different genres Mark has settled into the popular genres of ballads, country, pop and rock and is a regular performer throughout Gippsland where he lives. The Wild Women of Anywhere Beach
The Wild Women of Anywhere Beach, Cathy Welsford and Angie Smith, are legends in the folk and festival world with their funny, poignant, uplifting shows chock full of contemporary folk songs that deftly, often humorously, offer potent insights into a broad array of home-grown topics.
Wildlife preservation, relationships, feminism, neighbourhood blues, some of the joys of aging, rural life, heroism and standing up to tyrants are amongst the themes they expertly condense into three-minute gems with the talented musicianship and clever lyrics.
Their performances are invariably greeted with enthusiastic acclaim and there’s a high chance you’ll have their song choruses stuck in your head long after the show. Fans keen to experience their trademark satirical wit return again and again to enjoy old favourites and hear their latest offerings.
Aside from their inspiring concert performances that have blazed a trail from Cairns to Hobart and just about everywhere in between, in the past ten years this dynamic duo have recorded two successful studio albums which are now popular favourites on Bandcamp as well as top selling actual CDs and USBs.
They have also published two original songbooks and several solo and ensemble ukulele compositions in Australia and overseas; made various video and television appearances, most recently on the ABC and The Project; presented numerous ensemble and song-writing workshops; taught at Camp Creative for eight years; and run the Valla Beach bi-annual music camp which attracts musicians Australia-wide as well as from England and New Zealand.
You really can’t go past a clever escape from the everyday humdrum to be delightfully entertained by The Wild Women of Anywhere Beach. They have the ability to spin magic from the mundane. So if you like musical storytelling, witty, punchy insights into ordinary life combined with skilled musicianship don’t miss their shows. Their naturalism, intelligence, good spirit and willingness not to take themselves too seriously make them an endearing, entertaining, standout act.
